How is Stockton School District Using Career Cruising?
All students in grades 8 - 12 have access to Career Cruising as a career exploration tool through Stockton's Guidance and Counseling Office. Students log on using a general user name and password assigned to Stockton School District (school district residents can contact sharon.malone@stocktonschools.com for access to this login information). This career exploration online software is provided in cooperation with Highland Community College to all of its regional schools.
Each student at Stockton Middle School and High School is issued a portfolio username and password that is unique to the student. Students search for careers and schools and can take interest inventories, career surveys, skills assessments, school matching surveys, and financial aid locator surveys to help them plan for their education and career futures. Students can then save their career assessment results, schools of interest, careers of interest and their personal resume to a portfolio that they can access at any time.
Since Career Cruising is an online resource, students can access its features and their personal portfolio at any time via an internet connection. They can also share their career research and portfolio with their family, friends, teachers and counselor.
